Brick Lane Bridge Rivets

I imagine the cast iron rivets which adorn the panels on Brick Lane bridge photograph the people I’ve captured  over the years.

They are like beadie eyed cameras which remain constant no matter what the Council does to clean up the bridge. The lady above could be taking part in an early photographic experiment: every time one of her legs pass a rivet she is photographed.

Despite posters and wardrobes the rivets shine through. They are spots from the industrial revolution which refuse to move no matter how much regeneration you throw at them.
