In Memory Of Jo Cox MP

June 18, 2016

The photographs below are dedicated to the memory of Jo Cox MP. She was a mother, a campaigner, an MP, an advocate for the voiceless and those in poverty, and a passionate fighter against racism.

Her life was ruthlessly cut short by her alleged murderer Thomas Mair who has a well documented history of links with neo-Nazi organisations.

Love will always win over hate and terrorism, we will never forget Jo and her legacy.

The following words are by my nephew Oscar Maxwell:

Jo Cox was a relentless defender of anti-racism and progressive ideals, with a profusion of political and personal achievements to her name. The blind hatefulness and bigotry of one individual could not tarnish nor destroy such successes, and it is with this that the above photos express the solidarity of the many individuals involved in the struggle against such reckless ignorance. The legacy of Jo Cox, as with all who fight against such injustice, is as timeless and unassailable as the struggle itself.

As such, the countless faces of those protestors, lobbyists and activists united against these forms of injustice offer a hopeful affirmation of a people unafraid of hate and cowardice. They show not only a strong and unified vanguard against neo-Nazism and all other forms of ignorance, but also a multiracial, bilingual and multi-theistic mosaic of cultural cohesion and human understanding.
