Merseyside Pensioners Back Corbyn

June 30, 2016

The Merseyside pensioners association (MPA) has unanimously passed a resolution in support of Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn. They will be showing their support for the Labour leader this Saturday at 12pm outside outside Radio Merseyside Hanover St., Liverpool City Centre.

The MPA is a campaigning organisation which has recently been engaged in campaigns to support the Junior Doctors and the NHS.

The resolution passed by the MPA: The MPA notes the disarray and crisis in the Tory Party after the EU result and we condemn and oppose the attack on Corbyn by right wing MPs who, instead of preparing a campaign against the Tories, moved a vote of no confidence in the democratically elected Labour Leader.

We declare our own vote of no confidence in those involved in this treacherous action against the wishes of the thousands who voted for Corbyn, particularly the Merseyside Labour MPs, and call on them to resign and stand under their own right wing banner.

We welcome the declarations of support for Jeremy Corbyn by Mark Sewoka, Len McCluskey and MP Steve Rotheram.

We call for a general election so we can throw the Tories out and return a Corbyn-led Labour government committed to repealing the anti-trade union laws and rolling back austerity and taking back into public ownership the NHS and our utilities and carrying out a massive council house building programme. We believe such policies will crush Farage and his racist allies who flourish at times of shortage.

The appalling situation surrounding Mr Corbyn amply demonstrates the venal self-serving agenda of most politicians, who care only for their own career prospects, not the good of the country. That is why Mr Corbyn is so abhorrent to them because only cares for the people, not himself. This fight is not for the future of the Labour party but whether the grass roots can finally defeat the Blairite “establishment” once and for all. Nil desperandum, Mr Corbyn – we’re with you!

Excellent piece! This will give a boost to the campaign to defend JC as well as promoting the vital role of the MPA in fighting for the socialist values of the Labour Movement.

Excellent close-ups Phil we all look so young!! Looks like Angela Eagle is going to have a hard time at her CLP love to be a fly on the wall at that meeting. The secretary was on TV this morning saying the democratic decision was for Jeremy Corbyn and that’s who we should be supporting.
I’m looking forward to our demonstration tomorrow to show him where we stand. I’m sure there will be similar demo’s all over the country.

Jeremy’s campaign was the only one with any honesty and integrity. The press and other party members cannot cope with such behaviour ! I shall be in Liverpool centre on Saturday to support him. All of you be there !
