Keep The Guards On The Trains!

March 15, 2017

Last Monday saw an excellent turn out on the RMT strike against job losses and plans to remove guards from trains. Merseyrail and Northern Rail passengers are currently guaranteed a train guard on board every train to assist in protecting the safety of the train and passengers, provide advice and assistance and allow disabled passengers to embark and disembark at unstaffed stations. Plans are now in place to undermine this guarantee and put passenger safety and jobs at risk.
