Holland Estate

For the past 3 years I have been directing films about the East End with Hazuan Hashim. East End Homes and Telford Homes are the sponsors of the project which has so far produced 3 films. The fourth film is the most ambitious as it will be over 70 minutes long. Filming has already begun and we have had a particular focus so far on the Holland Estate and the Petticoat Lane area. The film will examine the interface between the City and the E1 area through the eyes of local people.

I’ve been photographing the E1 area for 30 years. The majority of the photographs here were taken decades ago. I have asked some local photographers to photograph in and around the Holland Estate; their work and insights will contribute to the film as well as some of the photographs below:
