Recycling in Bangladesh

May 11, 2013

The recent building disaster in Bangladesh reminded me of the photographs I took there in 2008 of children scavenging for recyclable materials on a landfill site. There is so much wealth in the world yet millions are forced to live in dire poverty hardly able to buy enough food to survive. These children traversed a stinking rubbish heap in their bare feet looking for materials to recycle.
