Harvey Gould’s Soho
October 26, 2016
In 2014 I made a film with Hazuan Hashim of an extraordinary Londoner called Harvey Gould. Here are some stills I took during the production of the film. Harvey was a marvellous subject; wonderfully animated, he lit up the screen.

Enjoyed the film. Liked the photography and the mingling of old and new footage. Brings back memories of Soho before it was tidied up and property values sky-rocketted.
No mention of the “We never closed” (as well as never clothed) Windmill Theatre or the the music scene which flourished there post-WW2, or the Archer Street musicians gig pickups. Still a great piece of social record.
Is Harvey Gould still alive? Now in April 2020?
Harvey is still alive.
