Austerity Fight Publicity Stills
Working as an independent film activist with Hazuan Hashim one of the biggest challenges we face is advertising our documentary films. Many films have a multi million advertising budget. We never have a budget for advertising. In fact the total budget we had for ‘Austerity Fight’ was £4,506.83. This helped to cover some of our expenses. We advertised screenings by using stills on social media that illustrated the campaigning content of the film. We also wanted to convey to a potential audience that the narrative of the film was entirely different from the mainstream media; hence the square box saying “Not the BBC news”.
The DVD of the film will be on sale in March 2018 for £10. Anyone can screen the film to raise funds for a particular campaign and provoke discussion about how we can all contribute to the fight against austerity.
