The plate glass windows of shops and offices are the unofficial arbiters to a third dimension on the street. Reflecting, teasing and distorting light they provide a rich sensation of light and colour for the imagination. Proper mirrors on the other hand are relentless and direct in their reflections. The mirrors in these photographs have moved from the living room to the pavement to reveal life on the street. They will have a short life before they are purchased and safely calmed by the four walls of a living room. One of the photographs slightly reveals the photographer and another reflects a market shopper.
