The two pieces of work below are the first of a series based on photographs I’ve taken of people smoking. The man with glasses was photographed in a cafe in Cheshire Street in the early 80s. The cafe is now a boutique. The woman was photographed on a Sunday at the market in Cheshire Street. She appeared originally on the front cover of a limited edition ‘Cafe Royal’ book.
