Yesterday In Liverpool (24)

May 19, 2019

Yesterday in Liverpool members of the Tommy Robinson (real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) fan club turned up in Church Street, Liverpool. Wearing yellow vests it was unclear what they were saying despite their use of loud hailers; members of the public objecting to their presence drowned them out with well considered slogans about our multicultural city. As they screamed out they were met with disdain, incredulity and bemusement by the large audience that gathered to watch. At first Merseyside Police stood by and watched the infantile street theatre with considerable patience. The performers yellow vests were embelished with a number of statements such as “Tommy vote Robinson”, “everyone resign”, “we want brexit”, “set the canibulls out” (sic), “stop forced adoption” and “oh Tommy Tommy”. One vest bore the Dunlop logo and the other the logo of RFPC Ltd. Hopefully both companies will be able to confirm they weren’t sponsoring the performance. The audience were unimpressed and fortunately the brief appearance of the miniscule fan club was concluded when Merseyside Police professionally removed them from the stage after the women demanded the police arrest everyone for shouting “fascist scum off our streets!”
