Liverpool Old & New (18)
When I look back into my Liverpool archive from the 70s to the early 80s you can see how the city has changed over the past 45 years. Has it changed for the better? I can’t find a single image of a homeless person on the streets from the earliest years of the archive. Today it’s a different story. A story of austerity Britain.

You may have noticed that over the years my street photography has been flooded with images of people on the street using a mobile phone. Has the use of digital technology enabled people to be more in touch with the world around them or has it caused a breakdown in how people relate to the environment and other people around them?
The work below is based on a photograph I took in Rome last year of a young woman seated on her bike and using a mobile phone.
