One last Bet
The concentration on this mans face suggests his life almost depends on what he is writing. Perhaps there is an element of truth in this as he may be down to his last penny. One thing I’m sure of: that he was determined to have a final bet rather than consolidate his remaining cash. I didn’t hang around to find out about his good fortune or otherwise.

Market Mess
Three of these photographs were taken many years ago after the close of the Sunday market in and around Brick Lane. They show some of the rubbish that was generated by the market which was sent to a landfill site. If we try to imagine how much the market has generated altogether over the years we can see what could have been recycled.
