Market Mess

Three of these photographs were taken many years ago after the close of the Sunday market in and around Brick Lane. They show some of the rubbish that was generated by the market which was sent to a landfill site. If we try to imagine how much the market has generated altogether over the years we can see what could have been recycled.

Two Capital Cities

I’ve always thought of the Buriganga river in Dhaka as the sister to the river Thames. The physical difference between the two is that there is much more traffic in Dhaka. Surely its business is a reflection of the Thames during Victorian times.
