Corbyn Storms Liverpool

On a wet Monday evening they came from all over Merseyside. Thousands poured into the plateau outside St Georges Hall. People on zero hour contracts, teachers, cleaners, children, pensioners, the unemployed, doctors, builders, the disabled, professors, artists, lawyers, poets and trade unionists. They were the 99% who have been neglected for decades by the political elite of the country. They have been vilified by the press as delusional, members of a sect, hero worshipers, bullies and thugs. They came to hear the message that we need a different kind of politics; a government for for the people not the rich. I am proud of my City.

Cheshire Street Spitalfields

Over the years I have watched Cheshire Street in Spitalfields change dramatically. I remember walking there nearly forty years ago on Sunday mornings. Then it was full of second hand shops, market stalls and derelict buildings. Now it is a poor reflection of its gritty past. On Sundays you will now find plenty of cbut few second hand stalls. However, there are still a few intrepid street entrepreneurs who deposit an array of junk on the floor in the hope of a sale from a passer by.

I’m fascinated by posters that are plastered up in Cities around the world. Not only are they a contemporary ‘popular cultural image’, once applied to a wall they start to develop a new life of their own; weather and the hands of people who object to them shift posters into a new visual realm. Shoreditch – Playground Of The Rich

Shoreditch has changed so much over the last 10 years. Gentrification is pushing people out and making it impossible for the average person to live there.

There is now virtually no social housing left. If you want to buy a three bedroom flat it will cost you £3,150,000! London is becoming a playground for the rich where ordinary people are forced to live in overcrowded conditions on incomes they can barely survive on.
